A group of 11 partners who jointly contributed to the innovations of Horizon, Liberty Global’s next-generation TV platform has won the company’s vendor award for Best Innovation/Breakthrough Supplier.
The group instrumental in developing the Horizon gateway consists of Samsung, NDS, Intel, Philips, Metrological, Celeno, Nagravision, Intellicore, ThinkAnalytics, EventIS and RedBee. Liberty Global said it decided to award these companies collectively due to the exceptionally strong collaboration on this breakthrough product suite.
Liberty Global announced the winners of its 2011 ‘Vendor Awards’ at the ‘Liberty Global Technology Summit’ in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Senior management from 80 key vendor partners attended the event, together with Liberty Global’s senior management in the areas of technology, IT, product development and procurement.
The company recognised its partners’ achievements in three further categories: Best Account Management, which was won by Cisco; Best Product & Service Quality, won by Pace; and Best Support & After Sales, won by Arris.
The winners of the Liberty Global Technology Awards are selected based on input from a large number of senior executives across the entire Liberty Global group. It is the fourth time that Liberty Global has acknowledged its relationship with its partners and suppliers in this way.
“Liberty Global recognizes the outstanding work of our vendor partners. We are extremely grateful for all their efforts and their ability to collaborate as demonstrated by the development of Horizon. Our partners’ professionalism and industry knowledge enable us to keep offering our customers new and reliable products and stay ahead of the competition,” said Balan Nair, CTO of Liberty Global, in a statement. “Our partners are an integral part of our success story”.
