The new Georgian IPTV service Silk-TV has opted for Orca’s RiGHTv middleware and COMPASS content discovery platform.
Operated by the incumbent telco Silknet, which was privatised in April 2010, Silk-TV will employ its owner’s ADSL2+ and GPON infrastructure, along with set-top boxes integrated with Motorola’s Bitband video servers, to offer viewers a mix of FTA digital and subscription channels, VOD and a PVR product.
The service is expected to launch at the end of this year.
