SeaChange has given details of its role in the development of the VOD service for TTNET’s Tivibu Ev service.
The IPTV platform is currently available in 30 cities across Turkey with SeaChange serving as both systems integrator and primary technology provider. Tivibu Ev consists of more than 100 linear multicast channels of standard- and high-definition television; 3,100-plus hours of standard- and high-definition video-on-demand (VOD) content. It also carries start-over TV functionality and 90 minutes of pause time on live TV.
“Our new era TV platform Tivibu will change TV-watching habits, finally offering the experience of international standard TV,” said Tahsin Yilmaz, general manager of TTNET. “SeaChange has proven to have been the right choice of systems integrator for TTNET thanks to its unique ability to leverage the proper combination of technology and services that helped bring our vision to a commercial reality.”
SeaChange’s professional services group developed the operational processes and procedure designs to support the rollout along with any future releases and features. The group also trained Turk Telekom staff on system operations and is currently providing remote managed services, which consists of daily, weekly and quarterly proactive checks that identify, isolate and rectify potential system issues before they could affect customers.
SeaChange integrated its TV Navigator middleware into the set-top boxes with back office software provided by Argela. Other key technologies include Envivio encoders, Verimatrix digital rights management and encryption, Motorola, Airties and Vestel set-top boxes.
“SeaChange is extremely proud of our role in helping TTNET build and launch its Tivibu Ev television service, particularly given the scale of the project,” said Yvette Kanouff, President, SeaChange. “The successful rollout of Tivibu Ev is a powerful testament to the relationship that SeaChange has with TTNET along with each of the technology partners. This collaboration and shared desire for success is the reason Turkish consumers are enjoying one of the most technologically advanced television services available in the world today.”
Earlier, it was announced that VOD content was being supplied by SeaChange subsidiary On Demand Group.
