The Russian DTH platform NTV-Plus has opted for the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) to secure its IPTV NTV-Plus service, delivered via local broadband network operators.
It will allow the platform to offer multiple tiers of set-top boxes at different price points to appeal to the widest range of broadband operators and consumers.
NTV-Plus is the longest established DTH platform in Central and Eastern Europe, having been formed in 1996, and currently offers around 600,000-650,000 subscribers in Russia over 140 channels.
Of these, 11 are in HD and one in 3D.
