The Polish incumbent telco TPSA and its subsidiary Bilbo have agreed to sell the national transmission company TP Emitel to Kapiri Investments for PLN1.7 billion (€422 million).
Kapiri Investments’ sole shareholder is the London-based private equity group Montagu IV.
The deal still has to be approved the Polish Competition Office (UOKiK) and contribution in kind made by TPSA of all the shares of TP Emitel to Bilbo.
TPSA estimates that the sale will have an estimated PLN1.2 billion positive impact on the TP Group’s 2011 profit before tax.
TP Emitel is playing a key role in Poland’s transition to digital broadcasting as the infrastructure provider.
