The Czech public broadcaster CT is preparing to call a tender for a company to sell advertising on its internet portals. It is also about to embark on an ambitious new internet strategy.
According to E15, internet sales have until now been undertaken ARBOinteractive, which is likely to be interested in bidding for what will be a five-year contract worth CZK15-20 million (€613,650 – 818,190) excluding VAT.
The winner of the contract will operate on a commission basis, with rates ranging from 0-15%.
Data produced by NetMonitor shows that the CT and CT24 channel sites had a combined 1.59 million real users (RU) in January this year.
CT unveiled an ambitious internet strategy in January linked to its plans for hybrid TV that would see the creation of special pages for its two main channel CT1 and CT2.
The strategy, which has been approved by its New Media division, will also see the CT24 and CT4 portals adjusted for the creation of applications for hybrid TV and smart mobile devices.
