The leading Polish independent TV and film producer ATM Grupa plans to launch its own TV channel later this year, according to its president, Maciej Grzywaczewski.
Quoted in Wirtualne Media, he added that it would still do so even if the channel does not secure carriage on the country’s first DTT multiplex.
ATM Grupa currently holds licences for two satellite channels and would like to distribute one of them on the multiplex.
Grzywaczewski revealed that ATM Grupa has already signed an agreement with the DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat for the carriage of its channels.
He also said he expects the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT to make a decision on its request for capacity on the first multiplex in the next two to three months.
ATM Grupa’s programmes are aired by such leading Polish broadcasters as TVP, Polsat and TV4.
It is also the only Polish producer that sells TV formats to foreign buyers.
