Fox International Channels (FIC) is to launch its female-skewing channel Utilisima into Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Albania.
Since the channel was created in 1996, Utilisima has built up a subscriber base of 35 million subscribers in 34 countries. The lifestyle focused-programming covers food, style, decorating and home improvement.
“Utilisima is the first channel dedicated to the women of today. It is also an international brand with huge distribution in Latin America, where the channel was originally developed and is performing very well,” said Krasimir Nikolov, managing director of Fox International Channels in the region.
Utilisima will bring many of the international shows that have contributed to its success, but will also be tailored for the Bulgarian market with local productions that will increase in number in the future.”
All of Utilisima’s programming is produced in house, the channel drawing on 1,200 hours of content produced by Fox Toma 1, the FIC-owned production house based in Argentina.
The Bulgarian channel will premiere with a mix of existing content and over 100 hours of locally produced programming. Original Bulgarian series will include Beautiful, but How, Man in the Kitchen and How Easy’.
