Juliusz Braun has been appointed the president of the Polish public broadcaster TVP, though only on a temporary basis until April 15.
He was chosen at the first sitting of TVP’s new Supervisory Board, which also elected Stanislaw Jekielek as its head and Grzegorz Borowiec as his deputy.
Braun was a member of the Polish National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) from 1999-2005 and president up until 2003. He is currently the general counsel at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
Braun’s limited brief is one of “steadying the ship” ahead of his successor, who will be chosen in a competition held in accordance with the law.
