Sony UK is adding the live video music VOD service Moshcam to its connected TV platform Bravia Internet Video, which will be available on-demand and free of charge.
Moshcam claims to have the world’s largest live music library with over 800 full length gigs, 10,000 individual tracks and 1000 hours of content including rock, pop, metal, dance, jazz and soul, as well as singer/songwriters. Featured talent includes The Pretenders, Gary Numan, Tegan & Sara, Jane’s Addiction and The Hives.
Edd Uzzell, proposition development manager Sony UK, said in a statement: “Sony is focused on providing the widest range of content on Bravia Internet Video and our partnership with Moshcam allows us to deliver music fans amazing live concerts and exclusive footage of their favourite artists.”
“Moshcam has always been ahead of the broadband curve, filming concerts in broadcast quality since its inception,” said Paul Hannigan, music director of Moshcam. “With our Sony IPTV partnership, users can now experience their favorite artists’ gigs free and on demand from the comfort of their lounge room. This is an absolute win for music fans and a win for the artists, who are reaching new audiences through an exciting new platform. As an industry leader, Sony is the perfect partner to enable TV viewers to enjoy Moshcam’s content.”
Sony UK also offers connected TV content from the catch-up TV service Demand Five and premium movies from Lovefilm.
