Eutelsat KabelKiosk launches CI+ module

Eutelsat’s German subsidiary KabelKiosk has now launched its CI+ module for NDS Videoguard, which is available in the shops for €79. A Conax version will follow later this year.

As reported first in Broadband TV News last February, Eutelsat’s headend-in-the-sky service Kabelkiosk planned to introduce its own CI Plus module to be used in cable (DVB-C) tuners. The NDS version is now available, and the Conax version is scheduled in the second quarter.

The CI+ module will allow KabelKiosk customers to view encrypted SD and HD channels direct on their own TVs with an integrated DVB-C tuner and CI+ interface.

Later this month, Kabelkiosk will also launch a CI Plus module for its digital terrestrial pay-TV servise Viseo +, which offers the RTL channels RTL, Vox, RTL2 and Super-RTL on a subscription basis to viewers in the Stuttgart and Halle/Leipzig regions.
