The independently owned small Dutch cable operator Kabel Noord has launched a new HD bouquet of channels which includes BBC One HD. It is the first operator outside the UK to distibute the HD version of this national channel.
Other Dutch operators are also looking in obtaining distribution rights to BBC One HD, but so far no formal agreements have been signed. Nevertheless, CAIWay, the country’s fourth largest operator, is already advertising the fact that it plans to include BBC One HD in its offer.
On Kabel Noord, BBC One HD is part of a new, extended HD bouquet, which also includes National Geographic HD, Brava HDTV, Animal Planet HD, Travel Channel HD, History HD, Arte HD, Mezzo HD, VRT Eén HD and VRT Ketnet/Canvas HD. As an extra, Brava 3D TV is also part of the bouquet, which retails for €3.50.
