Swedish cableco Com Hem reported a 6% increase in sales during 2010 to over SEK4.3 million. At the same time operating profits grew by 13% to SEK1.85 million.
It follows a SEK680 million network upgrade that has enabled the company to deliver its on demand service to 1.5 million homes as well as carrying out an extensive upgrade in the capital Stockholm.
“Com Hem has developed strongly in 2010. We invest continuously to improve our operations and in 2010 we have had a major focus on improving service to our customers. In the measurements we make, we see clear evidence that we are doing the right things and the process of improvement should stay with us into 2011, “says Tomas Franzén, CEO of Com Hem.
Digital TV subscriptions increased by 8% on the year to 619,000, broadband customers another 3% to 537,400 and telephony customers by 7% to 370,500.
In broadband, demand for higher speeds means that more than half of new sales are of 25 Mbps and above.
