SBS has announced that it has distribution agreements in place with Dutch cablers UPC, Ziggo and Caiway to carry the 24/7 digital channel featuring its new reality show Secret Story.
SBS will start to broadcast Endemol’s Secret Story from February 13 on its female skewed Net 5 channel. Billed as a ‘next-generation Big Brother’, Secret Story features 15 contestants who are locked up in a house full of cameras. Each of the participants carries a secret with her or him. The show is already a big hit for TF1 in France, where Endemol has developed the format.
Fifteen candidates are locked up in a house and each of the contestants has a ‘secret’. Endemol profiles the new show as ‘television 2.0?, as extensive use will be made of social media including Twitter, Facebook and the Dutch site Hyves.
