CBS Chellozone, the joint venture between the US eye network and Liberty Global’s Chellomedia, is to launch two HD channels in the UK market. CBS Action HD and CBS Drama HD will provide versions of two of the channels launched when the joint venture was formed in September 2009.
The channels are included in a new batch of Television Licensable Content Service Licences awarded in Ofcom during December. Zonemedia has also transferred Zone Horror (Netherlands) to the curiously titled ?TV.
Turner Broadcasting has a new licence for Adult Swim. The channel has recently launched in Central Europe and has previously run a branded block on Freeview. Turner also has a new version of Cartoon Network planned for the CEE region.
Also in CEE, Discovery Communications Europe Limited has been licensed to launch TLC in Romania.
KM TV Limited, which broadcasts to 10 million homes from Turksat 2A, has no less than five new licences for Music Turk, Planet Cocuk, Planet Pembe, Planet Sinema and Planet Turk.
