The leading Russian DTH platform Tricolor TV has begun offering subscribers movies on a pay-per-view basis.
Its new on demand service, known as Tricolor TV Film Academy, is significantly cheaper than that provided by other pay-TV operators, with each title being made available for R10 (€0.25) per 24 hours, as opposed to between R50-100.
Movies in Tricolor TV Film Academy are divided into four categories – melodramas, dramas, historical films and detective stories; comedies and children’s films; “action and fiction; and thrillers, horror and art house.
The service is available to Tricolor TV subscribers living within the Eutelsat W4 and W7 footprints.
