The Russian telco Svyazinvest remains keen to enter the lucrative Moscow pay-TV and broadband market and has targeted National Telecommunication (NTK), the operator of the country’s leading cable company NKS.
According to Kommersant, three Svyazinvest daughter companies – Rostelecom, Uralsvyazinform and NWT – are likely to bid up to $1.4 billion (€1.06 billion) for NTK.
NKS has a strong presence in Moscow (Mostelecom) and Moscow region, St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kurgan and Novosibirsk and will end this year with 4.95 million active subscribers.
Svyazinvest also remains in the market for the Moscow-based cable operator Akado, which has been valued at $630-650 million and has debts of $350 million.
