AETN UK has appointed Adam MacDonald to the newly created position of VP of programming to start in early January 2011.
Based at the company’s West London office, he will report to the managing director, Tom Davidson. With Tom he will be responsible for setting the programming vision and strategies for AETN UK’s portfolio of channels.
He will be overseeing commissioning, acquisitions and scheduling for the entire company which currently operates a suite of factual channels, including History, History HD, Bio, Bio HD, Crime & Investigation Network, Crime & Investigation Network HD and Military History in the UK, Ireland, Africa, the Middle East, Greece, Benelux, Scandinavia and Central Europe.
MacDonald joins AETN UK from IWC Media where he was Creative Director and Executive Producer for Channel Four and BBC One projects. Before taking up this role he spent two years at ITV. Previously, Macdonald worked at Channel 4, Lion TV and the BBC.
