Dutch premium movie channel Film1, part of Liberty Global’s Chellomedia, is now available to Film1 subscribers on Ziggo Interactive TV platform, the broadcaster has announced.
Film1 On Demand is available to those subscribers that have an interactive cable set-top box from Ziggo, the largest cable operator in the country. Most Ziggo digital subscribers still have only a zapper box, but the number of interactive STBs is growing.
The VOD service is part of the Film1 subscription. Until now, Film1 On Demand has only been available on the UPC Nederland cablenet. Most titles shown on the premium movie channel are available as part of this SVOD service, but some individual titles have not been cleared for VOD.
Casper Keller, general manager Film1, said in a statement: “Extending our digital services is the next step in the evolution of our brand. By launching this service we are responding to consumer demands and changing lifestyles plus adding to Film1’s undisturbed viewing experience. With the launch of the Film1 On Demand, Film1 is clearly the place to be for more movies.”
