Hungary ended September with 1,322,000 digital TV subscribers, according to figures published by the country’s National Media and Telecommunications Authority (NMHH).
This was 24,000 more than a month earlier and equivalent to 51.8% of all pay-TV subscribers.
The total number of digital cable and IPTV subscribers grew from 491,000 to 509,000 in September, while the digital DTH total rose from 808,000 to 813,000.
When all services were taken into account, UPC was the market leader, through its share fell from 30.2% in August to 29.9% in September.
Magyar Telekom’s grew from 25% to 25.1% and Digi’s from 24.7% to 25%.
UPC was the leading provider of cable service and Digi the leading DTH operator as of the end of September.
