The future structure of the TV ad sales market in Russia from 2011 onwards has now essentially been agreed and – somewhat surprisingly – is little different to the one it will replace.
According to Kommersant, Video International (VI), until now the leading ad sales house with a market share of around 70%, will continue to service the leading broadcaster Channel One. It will also provide services to Prof Media, YUTV and the National Media Group, thereby claiming a new market share of 34.27%.
Two of VI’s former customers – CTC Media and RTR – have created their own sales houses, while Gazprom-Media/Alcazar will serve NTV, TNT and TV Center.
