Canal 13TV launches on Spanish DTT

The new general interest digital terrestrial channel Canal 13TV will launch as a free-to-air service on the multiplex from Unidad Editorial later this month.

The former president of Antena 3 Television, José María Mas, will head the new channel, which aims to support “traditional family values.” He will share responsibilities with Samanes Alexander, founder and former CEO of Cadena COPE’s Popular TV.

The catholic broadcaster Cadena COPE will also take a 10% share in the new channel alongside a group of investors. Programming will include a daily mass.

Canal 13TV is part of the Veo Television owned by Unidad Editorial, which also comprises FTA channels Veo TV, Marca TV and the pay-TV channel AXN.
