The Polish incumbent telco TPSA ended the third quarter with 497,000 subscribers to its DTH and IPTV services. This compared to a figure of 283,000 (+75.6%) in the corresponding period last year and was equivalent to 21.9% of the company’s retail broadband customer base.
According to TPSA, its TV subscribers are now providing increasing protection against broadband churn.
Following an agreement signed with TVN earlier this month, the latter will become the main content provider for TPSA’s basic and pay-TV services, saving the telco an estimated PLN100 million (€25.4 million) over the next five years.
TPSA as a whole posted revenues of PLN3,898 million in Q3, or 3.9% less than a year earlier. The fixed line segment, which includes its TV operations, amounted to PLN2,218 million (-7.5%).
Restated net income in the quarter stood at PLN372 million, 13.8% more than a year earlier.
