Hungary ended August with 1.299 million digital TV subscribers, or 19,000 more than a month earlier, according to data published by the country’s National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH).
In August, the number of digital cable and IPTV subscribers rose from 481,000 to 491,000, while those watching satellite services went up from 798,000 to 808,000.
In terms of overall market share for digital services, UPC remained in first place despite its figure of 30.2% being down from 30.4% a month earlier.
Both Magyar Telekom and Digi saw their shares rise, however, in August. The former’s went up from 24.8% to 25%, while the latter’s increased from 24.4% to 24.7%.
