MIPCOM 2010 – CANNES. New Media Digital Contents, a provider of digital on demand content in Portugal, has announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with Tvinci, the pay-TV on demand video platform provider, to create a leading edge white box subscription/pay-on-demand service for EMEA and Latin America.
New Media has selected Tvinci to help launch its FilmBox concept, a white label out-of-the box on demand platform for telcos, retailers and CE Device vendors, which is used for delivering video on multiple devices. FilmBox, which will be rolled out the first quarter of 2011, will feature movies and other content including the latest Hollywood blockbusters, offered via subscription video on demand, pay-per-view and electronic sell-through.
FilmBox, which offers other support functions, including content protection, preparation and ingestion, will create an opportunity for telecom operators, retailers and consumer electronics manufacturers. Tvinci’s complete services management video platform has been developed to offer content on a variety of platform, including PCs, Macs, Connected TV, STB, games console, smartphones and tablets.
Tvinci has been operating since 2007 and has clients across Europe, the US and Latin America, including MTV and Orange.
New Media Digital Contents, founded by Francisco Salema in 2003, is a specialised VOD content aggregator with relationships with important rights owners, including Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures, as well as major Telco partners in Europe, which include KPN, Portugal Telecom, Telefonica of Spain, Vodafone Portugal and Cogeco among others.
