The French broadcaster Groupe AB will launch two new channels on September 26, the company has announced. A week earlier, the lifestyle channel Men’s Up TV will start broadcasting on September 21.
Groupe AB will start LuckyJack.TV, a channel dedicated to casino games, but poker in particular. Initially, the new channel will become available on the IPTV platforms from Free, Orange, Neufbox and Bouygues (Bbox) with cabler Numericable expected to sign up later this year. Programming will include such programnes as Poker After Dark, The Women Poker Open and the NBC National Head’s Up Poker Championship.
The other channel from AB will be the French version of the US Golf Channel, which will be dubbed in French, but will also include original French programming.
Men’s Up TV is a lifestyle channel for men between 25 and 49 years old, which is launched by French internet company Warm Up interactive. Distribution agreements are in place with Free, Alice and SFR; contracts with Numericable, Bouygues and Orange are expected to be finalised within a month.
