The OIPF (Open IPTV Forum) has announced the publication of the second edition of its global end-to-end specifications for IPTV.
Release 2 includes what the OIPF is describing as “an evolution of functionality” with a basket of improvements and enhancements to the 2009 publication. The Forum has defined a number of usage Profiles and has undertaken interoperability testing using its established specifications. It is currently defining a Certification programme with the aim of providing further confidence to Service Providers.
“Our aim has always been to stimulate the creation of a true mass market for IPTV, and the publication of Release 2 of the Forum specifications represents another major step towards this goal,” said OIPF President Yun Chao Hu, who expressed his gratitude to the organisations that had contributed to the development of the release.
