Philips has announced that it has now received CI Plus certification from the Dutch cabler Ziggo for 48 of its models.
All 2010 models in the 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000 and 9000 series, as well as the Cinema 21:9 set, have received the certification. However, people who already have such a TV set at home have to perform a software upgrade themselves in order to make their TV set CI Plus compatible. The certification is only good for those TV sets that have an integrated DVB-C tuner.
Ziggo has now certified receivers from Panasonic, Sony, LG, Samsung and Philips. For a complete list of all certified receivers go the Ziggo website, which offers a complete lists of all certified equipment (website only in Dutch; click on brand name to display list of certified receivers)
