The Polish mobile operator Polkomtel is looking into the possibility of investing in the country’s cable industry.
According to Parkiet, the company, which owns the Plus mobile network, is likely to issue bonds worth up to €1 billion later this year on the Catalyst division of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Polkomtel is also interested in acquiring providers of triple play services, though according to its president Jaroslaw Bauc may be deterred from moving into the cable market due to the high valuation placed on networks by their current owners.
Polkomtel has already been linked with Multimedia Polska, while Aster has attracted interest from UPC and the incumbent telco TPSA.
