Russia’s CTC Media has posted operating revenues of $130,499,000 (€98,941,600) for the second quarter, a 15% increase on the same period last year. However, both its OIBDA ($36,167,000, -22%) and net income ($20,904,000) were down over the same period.
The company, which is backed by Modern Times Group (MTG) and includes the channels CTC, Domashny and DTV in its portfolio, was a clear beneficiary in the rebound of Russia’s ad market after a difficult 2009. Its ad revenues amounted to $124,912,000 in Q2, up 15% on a year earlier, while the H2 figure of $241,895,00 was 16% higher than in the same half in 2009.
Outside Russia, CTC Media has operations in Kazakhstan (Channel 31), Uzbekistan and Moldova. Most recently, the international version of the CTC channel became available in Israel.
