Spain is gearing up for the launch of a number of new DTT-delivered thematic channels over the next few months.
El Pais says that this follows the government’s decision last month to allocate additional frequencies to the national broadcasters, allowing them to transmit up to four more DTT channels.
Antena 3 has already announced a new channel named Nitro and aimed at a male audience, along with NeoX and Nova, targeting kids and female viewers respectively.
Telecinco has meanwhile taken the first steps to launch Boing, a channel aimed at children and young viewers.
