Broadcom has said that its BCM7325 and BCM7335 chipsets are being used in the new range of set-top boxes being deployed by Sky Deutschland.
The single-chip BCM7325 solution will power the next generation of HD non-DVR STBs, manufactured by Pace and unveiled at Anga Cable in May, while the single-chip BCM7335 will be at the heart of Sky Deutschland’s first integrated Sky+ DVR.
The system-on-a-chip solutions enable multi-channel high definition and digital video recorder functionality. This includes support for MPEG-4, NDS MediaHighway, and Flash-based user interface.
Both chips meet the European Commission’s Code of Conduct on Energy Efficiency of Digital TV Service Systems to lower power consumption.
