The Estonian incumbent telco’s subsidiary Elion ended Q2 with 113,400 digital TV subscribers, or 28% more than a year earlier.
It gained 5,200 digital subscribers in the quarter, double the number in Q2 2009, thanks largely to the national transition to digital broadcasting (which was completed on July 1), the launch of the new Twin Solution and the introduction of the digiTV recording service.
Elion is the leading provider of digital TV services in Estonia and the second largest operator in the cable TV market, in the latter instance claiming a 35% share.
