Russia’s MTS has completed the acquisition of the cable operator Multiregion for a fee of $123.5 million (€95.5 million).
It has also, according to AKTR and Comnews, taken on Multiregion’s debts, which financial statements put at $84.4 million.
MTS’s interests include Comstar-UTS and the deal will strengthen its position as one of the leading cable operators in Russia.
Multiregion covers around 1.8 million homes, of which 1.3 million are served by FTTB infrastructure, in 37 cities across Russia. It currently has some 700,000 cable and 260,000 broadband internet subscribers.
