The costs of receiving triple play services in Romania are now amongst the lowest in Europe if not the world, according to Joerg Zeddies, the executive director of the incumbent telco Romtelecom’s residential unit.
Zeddies was quoted in ZF, where Adrian Sarbu, senior consultant at Roland Berger, added that the monthly cost of 2 Mbps internet connection has fallen from 70 to only few euros.
Yorgos Ioannidis, the executive director of Romtelecom, has meanwhile said that such low prices are unsustainable in the medium term.
Romtelecom is engaged in a price war with its closest rivals RCS/RDS and UPC as it bids to become the leading provider of pay-TV and broadband services within the next three years.
