Triple play drives ZON growth
The Portuguese pay-TV operator ZON is enjoying considerable success in migrating its subscribers to multiple play bundles. However, its overall subscriber total is falling.
Switch Now campaign drives Ziggo revenue rise
A massive increase in triple play customers helped Ziggo compensate for second half loses in basic cable subscriptions. Revenues increased by 7% to €676.7 million, including a 36% increase (€60.2 million) from paid-for digital TV services. EBITDA of €388 million was up 13% against H1 2009.
Positive half year for SES
Satellite operator SES has posted revenues of €844.9 million for the first half of this year, a 4.5% increase on the corresponding period in 2009. Its EBITDA was meanwhile 3.3% higher at €632.7 million, and operating profit rose by 4.5% to reach €386.3 million.

Belgacom demonstrates IPTV demand
Belgium continues to be a hotspot for genuine IPTV as demonstrated by the telco Belgacom, which added 54,000 additional TV subscribers in the second quarter, traditionally one of the poorest for subscriber growth.
Croatian T-HT gains IPTV subs
Croatia’s incumbent telco T-HT ended the second quarter with 256,846 IPTV subscribers. The figure was 2.4% up quarter-on-quarter but a much more impressive 50.6% more than 12 months earlier.
