Poland’s often confusing transition to digital broadcasting is beginning to gather momentum, with ASO now likely to take place on July 31, 2013.
According to Satkurier, its second DTT and third DTT multiplexes will both probably be launched this October, by which time 80% of the country should be covered by DTT signals.
The government has also just adopted a draft law on the implementation of DTT, with minds apparently having been focused by what is likely to be the winding up of the National Broadcasting (KRRiT) and the need to deal with unfinished business.
Poland’s first DTT multiplex, which is being operated by the incumbent telco TP’s subsidiary EmiTel on a temporary basis, was launched last September
