RTL Nederland has made its catch-up TV service RTL Gemist available on most mobile phones, the broadcaster has announced.
Programmes will become available about one hour after the broadcast and can be accessed for the following 48-hours using the tabs ‘today’, ‘yesterday’ and ‘the day before yesterday’. As with the regular catch-up TV service (online and on cable), some of the content (mainly news and current affairs) is available free of charge, while for the other programmes a payment is required.
Payment is processed by the mobile operator, either as content billing or text billing.
“RTL Nederland wants to be present where the consumer is active, with entertainment and informative content. The expansion of our video catch-up service RTL Gemist to mobile Internet fits perfectly with this strategy,” said Arno Otto Managing Director, Digital Media RTL Nederland in a statement.
