The Czech Republic’s leading broadcaster TV Nova is ready to launch between two and four more thematic channels, according to its technical director Ivo Ferkl.
Speaking at a conference in Prague entitled Future World TV and quoted in Digizone, he added that the CME-owned company would also like to have– just as the public broadcaster CT already does – its own multiplex.
Indeed, “from our perspective, the digitisation process does not stop with the transfer of terrestrial analogue broadcasts to DVB-T”.
TV Nova would in addition like to begin broadcasting in HD and is therefore supporting plans by the national transmission company Cesky Radiokomunikace (CRa) to undertake DVB-T2 trials.
Furthermore, it is, like its sister service Pro TV in Romania, ready to start 3D transmissions.
