Romania eyes DTT subsidies

The operators of Romania’s first two DTT multiplexes could receive subsidies of up to €1 million for set-box boxes.

The news was given to Financiarul by Marius Fecioru, the state secretary in the Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI), who added that the licence fee for two multiplexes may not be less than €1 million.

The two DTT licences, which may be held by a single company, are expected to be awarded later this year. They will carry a total of 16 FTA channels.
