ANGA Cable 2010 – Cologne. eventIS has announced a new deal to supply a VOD system to the Polish cablenet INEA. In addition to providing VOD content to its own subscribers in Western Poland, INEA will also manage and deliver on-demand content for several smaller service providers. Seachange-owned eventIS is supplying its open converged Service Delivery Platform (cSDP) and providing overall system integration management on the project.
“We chose eventIS expressly for its system integration expertise as well as its open solution. These two factors were important in ensuring cost-effectiveness and upgradeability. The cSDP is also a state-of-the-art open solution that allows us maximum freedom of choice, for instance in video servers, edge QAMs and the integration of our existing billing and CRM systems. Equally important, it can easily grow with us as we plan further services such as recommendations, time-shifting, catch-up TV and multi-screen services,” says Janusz Kosinski, President, INEA.
Erwin van Dommelen, President, eventIS said the deal underscored the company’s strength in Poland and commitment to the market. “We are delighted to be able to help INEA roll out on-demand services. The project involves some distinctive challenges: one is management and integration of multiple suppliers within strict timelines. Another is implementing regionalized on-demand catalogues to enable INEA’s wholesale partners to offer dedicated content to their subscribers.”
The eventIS cSDP is based on the PRODIS asset and product management system and TRAXIS.web transaction manager.
INEA currently offers over 140 in SD and HD and high speed internet. It has 137,000 subscribers.
