UPC has announced that its digital cable service is now received by 250,000, or 25%, of its one million subscribers in Poland.
It adds that although the take-up of digital cable services in Poland is, at 23%, much lower than the 35% in Europe as a whole, it is catching up rapidly.
The Polish Chamber of Electronic Communications (PIKE) put the total number of digital cable homes in the country at 748,000 at the end of 2009.
UPC is now believed to be the leading provider of digital cable services in Poland, having overtaken Vectra, which most recently claimed 240,000 digital subscribers.
