The Dutch IPTV provider KPN Interactieve TV has launched 10-channel strong HD bouquet, which is available to those homes within the reach of its VDSL network.
People wishing to subscribe to the HD channels need to pay an additional €10 subscription fee on top of their basic subscription price of €10. KPN has said its current generation of IPTV set top boxes is capable of receiving the HD channels, so no exchange of receiver is needed.
The HD bouquet consists of public broadcasters Nederland 1, 2 and 3, Net5, SBS6 and Veronica from the SBS Group, the Flemish channels VRT Één and Canvas Ketnet, as well as Discovery HD and Animal Planet HD.
In addition to the basic and HD tiers, KPN also offers an extended tier (Pluspakket) and live sports in Eredivisie Live and Chellomedia’s Sport 1 as additional options.
KPN Interactieve TV is available to eight out of 10 Dutch homes, according to the operator. The company now claims a 23% market share of the total Dutch digital TV market, with its DTT service Digitenne taking the majority of subscribers.
