The Dutch distributor Glashart Media will start distributing its digital TV signals in unencrypted DVB-C streams to its customers on Fibre-to-the-Home (FttH) networks. This will make it possible for subscribers to use their integrated TV sets and PVRs.
Until now, Glashart provided analogue signals and an IPTV signal, requiring a separate set-top box. The move is intended to make it easier for customers to switch from cable to FttH.
Glashart Media is a subsidiary of Reggefiber, the company that is now rolling out FttH networks across the country in selected areas in direct competition with cablenets.
