Romania’s third largest cable operator Digital Cable Systems (DCS) has provided further details about its digital TV service, which will make its debut next month.
Quoting the company’s head Dinu Malacopol, ZF says it will offer around 80 channels and cost RON39 (€9.4) a month to receive. Investment in the service will be initially in the region of €500,000, and it will hopefully break even in 2-3 years, depending on market conditions.
It is hoped the service will have at least 10,000 subscribers – DCS currently has over 200,000 analogue TV customers – after the first year and that it will be purchased by 40% of all customers after two years.
DCS is backed by AIG has cable and DTH operations that both use the brand name Akta.
