The Lithuanian incumbent telco TEO LT has posted a net profit of LTL169 million (€49 million) for 2009, or 5.7% more than for the previous year. However, its total consolidated revenue fell to LTL816 million (LTL826 million), and EBITDA was also lower at LTL338 million (LTL349 million).
TEO LT ended the year with 56,000 IPTV subscribers (+38.6%), while its DTT customer total increased 1.8 times to over 46,000. Its broadband subscriber total stood at 313,000, of who around a fifth (63,000) had fibre optic access.
Although TeliaSonera-backed TEO LT is one of the main driving forces in Lithuania’s transition to digital broadcasting, the revenues it generates from its GALA-branded TV services (3.4% of the total in 2009) are still modest compared to those for voice telephony (56.5%) and internet/data (33.8%).
