Viasat has announced the launch of a new subscription video-on-demand service as part of its Viasat OnDemand internet portal in Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
The subscription service that went live on February 2 includes live sports, TV series and access to some 200 feature films at any given time. It has been priced in a variety of thematic packages at between SEK 49 (€4.83) and SEK 199 (€19.62) per month.
“This subscription service is the latest step in the ongoing development of our market leading online content offering. It is in line with our commitment to make free and paid-for entertainment available to viewers on a flexible ‘anytime, anywhere’ basis on multiple distribution platforms,” commented MTG President and CEO Hans-Holger Albrecht.
The platform features US series as Two and a Half Men, Friends, ER, Supernatural and Smallville, UEFA Champions League football, ATP and Davis Cup tennis the NHL and HockeyAllsvenskan ice hockey leagues, and motor racing’s Formula One World Championship and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Movies include Hancock, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan and The Kite Runner. Full parental controls have been built in.
Catch-up TV services from Viasat’s own branded channels and third party broadcasters are also included as Viasat continues to build the destination.
