The Polish alternative telco Dialog aims to end this year with 50,000 IPTV subscribers.
Quoted in Wirtualne Media, its president Robert Banasiak said its IPTV subscriber total had grown from 3,500 at the beginning of 2009 to around 20,000 at year’s end.
He added that IPTV has become a driver for the telco, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of KGHM Polska Miedz, as it seeks new subscribers.
Banasiak also said that he expects Dialog to post better results for last year than in 2008, when its net loss amounted to PLN292.1 million (€71.4 million).
Poland still has a relatively small IPTV sector in which the incumbent telco Telekomunikacja Polska (TP) is by far the largest player.
