Sky has given a makeover to its Remote Record app that allows iPhone users to check forthcoming programmes and remotely book programme recordings.
The new version has lost the look of Sky’s blue and yellow EPG, instead opting for a design closer to the upgraded EPG seen by Sky’s 1.6 million HD subscribers. HD itself is for the first time included as a separate category on the app. Users can also select their own Favourite channels, though this has to be done manually, rather than drawing on the list that may have been pre-set on the in-home satellite receiver. Customers can however upgrade their Sky Package through the app.
Sky Remote Record now uses the ability of the iPhone to show different content when held vertically or horizontally. When held in portrait the application shows a list of programmes currently available within a particular genre. When turned to landscape the application shows an EPG in the familiar grid format.
Sky Remote Record is available free from the iTunes store.
