The Russian DTH platform NTV-Plus has added the ice hockey channel KHL-TV to its offer. It is being distributed via Eutelsat W7 in MPEG-2 SD and being made available in two premium packages known as Sport and Supersport.
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) was formed in 2008 and is an international ice hockey league covering Euroasia, though with a strong Russian representation.
Besides being offered by KHL-TV, it is also available to viewers through Viasat in Scandinavia and CEE and the Czech Republic’s TV Nova.
KHL-TV plans to show between 300-400 matches in the current 2009/10 season.
